Tips for a Great Design:
Proper use of color: Color draws attention to certain elements on a page. Don’t try to make everything stand out. Other wise your message will get lost. A good rule of thumb is pick two, but at the max four colors for your marketing purposes.
Layout: This is the most crucial part of designing a website. Start with a clear navigation structure. Use a grid for your organized content, and elements on a page. This way the site will look more professional than put together randomly. Don’t be afraid of white space!
Typography: Make sure your website is legible. Using suitable fonts, sizes, and color will keep visitors on your site. For easy reading of pages use bullet lists, section headings, and short paragraphs.
Animation: Everyone is wowed by the cool flash animations on a website. However in many cases it is the wrong strategy. Using animated backgrounds or music distracts from your message, and also slows down the page loading time. Only use media, and animation that supports your content.
Content and Layout:
It is very important to keep elements on your site consistent from page to page. These elements include color, font size, layout, and place of these elements.
