Today when one thinks “content”, the idea of mobile devices immediately pops up. . So much so that Google is changing its algorithm used to rank websites. It will be focused on “responsive”, meaning that the same content can be viewed on multiple devices
he reason for changing the algorithm is that the majority of searches using Google are on mobile devices. “Nearly two-thirds of Americans own a smartphone, and 19% of Americans rely to some degree on a smartphone for accessing online services and information, and for staying connected to the world around them.” AARON SMITH http://www.pewinternet.org/2015/04/01/us-smartphone-use-in-2015/
Here on Cape Cod we are a tourist destination. Mobile devices, specifically phones to locate your business, are everywhere. We are an immediate culture. If people cannot easily locate your address or phone number, you have lost a possible sale. Another trend is mobile apps. We tend to think of Facebook, Twitter, etc. but that is not necessarily the case. A restaurant for example could have an app that is for reservations and menus. You can also create an app that when pressed goes directly to your website. In today’s environment what is simple for your audience will increase potential sales for you.
There has been a lot of talk about social media Marketing, but staying in touch with your customers is imperative in this new age. These mobile devices make it easy to accomplish this task.
